Pinneast Introduces Adaptive Learning SCO
In a cutting-edge example of innovative programming,
Pinneast’s Adaptive Learning solution provides a reusable SCORM
1.2 complaint template complete with pooled pre- and post tests,
as well as dynamically-presented course lesson modules. The reusable
template provides a learner-centric focus that reduces training
time, improves retention and helps organizations solve the real
world problem of implementing adaptive learning within a commercial,
standards-based learning system.
Developed through a unique partnership with AEC,
an Ontario-based custom content developer, Pinneast has developed
a solution for clients who want to minimize the amount of time learners
spend in a training session. Because most commercial, standards-based
Learning Management Systems do not fully support an Adaptive Learning
Environment, Pinneast’s approach was to develop a standards-based,
reusable course “template” using internal programming to assess
individual user knowledge, and then dynamically present only those
course materials needed to achieve mastery. Metadata and course
CMI functionality are entirely SCORM 1.2 compliant, yet the course
functionality implements much of the adaptive learning functions
of advanced SCORM standards that are not yet available with commercial
Learning Management Systems. The initial use of the template was
to package AEC content for use by Symantec within their SCORM 1.2
compliant Aspen Learning Management System, by SumTotal Systems.

Pinneast.com, Inc. and RealCast Announce Partnership
to Integrate Streaming Video for e-Learning
RealCast Corporation, a provider of on-demand
high quality streaming video, and Pinneast.com, Inc. an e-Learning
solutions provider based in Columbia , SC announced that they have
integrated their technologies to provide streaming video “webinars”
for e-Learning. The integration combines the learner, reporting,
and course management capabilities of a Learning Management System
with the on-demand communications of next generation streaming video.
The result is the ability to organize live, recorded and web-based
courses and deliver a blended learning solution.
The initial launch of the integrated technology
is being made on October 31 st, at the Third Annual International
Conference on Mobile Health being presented by the International
Mobile Health Association and hosted by The University & Community
College System of Nevada Health Schools, The University of Nevada
School of Medicine, and the Nevada State Health Division. The companies
plan to offer online training resources for the health care community.
A full curriculum of HIPAA training is also being made available.
According to company representatives the ability
of the system to organize, deliver and report on streaming video
communications and training over the Internet will produce significant
benefits for organizations and individuals. Users can sign up for
and view webinars, take online courses and tests, then receive certificates
of completion. This can dramatically decrease training costs compared
to traditional methods. Costs for travel, instructors, and lost
job time are eliminated. Because the site is available 24 x 7 by
anyone over the Internet it makes healthcare training affordable
and scalable, eliminating the barriers of time and place. The system
is also available for use by training managers to provide an affordable,
“pay as you grow” solution complete with individualized course catalogs
and company-level reports. Available and planned resources include
a catalog of online courses, a content authoring tool, and support

Hewlett-Packard Selects Pinneast to Support
Worldwide e-Learning Initiative
Pinneast.com, Inc., a leading eLearning
Solutions provider to Fortune 500 companies, has been selected by
Hewlett Packard (NYSE: HWP) to provide implementation and help desk
services for their enterprise-level Learning Management System.
Hewlett-Packard Company - a leading global provider of computing
and imaging solutions and services - is focused on making technology
and its benefits accessible to all.
The purpose of the agreement is to enable Hewlett
Packard to rapidly roll out a global LMS while ensuring a “seamless”
transition to the new system. This is because the LMS supports critical
business functions for training, certification, productivity and
compliance.
Pinneast --based in West Columbia, SC – began
the project by providing Hewlett Packard with system and database
engineers to support the customization, installation of their LMS.
Because of the complexity and scope of the project, Hewlett Packard
also selected Pinneast to provide a 24- hour-a-day, five-day-a-week
e-learning help desk. This service enables Hewlett Packard to begin
using the new system without delays— and also begin realizing an
immediate return on their investment-- while allowing time to train
users and internal staff on system functions and operating discipline.
To provide real-time maintenance, administration
and support for the LMS, Pinneast’s e-Learning Help Desk has been
provided direct Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to Hewlett
Packard’s multiple LMS servers positioned around the Continental
United States. Users across the globe have direct access to the
desk via a direct e-mail link on the LMS and a 1-800 number “hotline.”
Help Desk technicians who were trained in both the LMS functionality
and Hewlett Packard’s internal operating discipline provide direct
support to trainers, administrators, and end users-- enabling Hewlett
Packard to rapidly and efficiently publish, organize, access and
report on training. In addition to providing Hewlett Packard these
“turnkey” Tier I and II online training services, Pinneast technicians
also identified Tier III LMS software issues which were passed to
the Pinneast and Hewlett Packard technical support teams for resolution.
“Hewlett Packard chose Pinneast because they
offered a professional services program that was backed up by help
desk support. We needed global support on our e-learning initiative
and Pinneast has a track record in supporting large rollouts,"
said Larry Lee of Hewlett Packard's Educational Services Worldwide.
“Pinneast’s experience in supporting e-learning initiatives with
companies like Dow Chemical and Nortel was a tremendous benefit
in overcoming obstacles presented to our learners."
